BeckyJo and Darrick Tie the Knot in Chi-Town

In mid-October, Jon and I had the opportunity to travel to Chicago for BeckyJo and Darrick's wedding. Because we had never met the couple before, we were a bit anxious about the wedding, but once we arrived, we were immediately welcomed into the family and felt right at ease with both the bride and groom. BeckyJo and Darrick both currently live in Seattle, but since BeckyJo is originally from the Chicago area, they decided to have the wedding at a gorgeous country club in the suburbs of Chicago.

The bride and bridesmaids finished up getting ready at BeckyJo's parent's house. Check out her awesome mermaid style dress.


Simple, classic shoes


Lisa, a make-up artist and friend of the couple, flew in from Seattle to attend the wedding... and to do BeckyJo's make-up. she's awesome.


Because the ceremony would end close to sunset, BeckyJo and Darrick opted to see each other before the wedding, which was a great decision! It gave us tons more time for photos when the sun was out and left us lots of room for creativity. The two shared a special moment together before we started the photos.


We seriously had one of the best fall days I've ever had the pleasure of photographing. It had rained a little beforehand, but the clouds broke just enough to give us a beautiful fall sky.


Jon grabbed this shot of the men. Darrick is a flair bartender and all his groomsmen work with him. Ten points to the reader who can pick out the bouncer from the rest of the group :).

Jon grabbed this shot of BeckyJo as she was processing down the aisle after the ceremony. And I love it! It reminds me of a paparrazi shot from the Oscars.


After the ceremony, we snuck outside for a few more minutes to grab the last bit of sunlight before night fell. And I'm so glad we did. check out that sunflare

I love this shot that Jon took of Darrick's mom while she was dancing it up with the groomsmen on the dance floor. Those guys sure did know how to have fun at a wedding :)


Recognize these two? We shot Matt and Aubrey's wedding earlier this year in Chicago and we were so excited to see them again! I think we got to see them four days in a row, which was quite a treat :). I think we're definitely due for our a trash the dress session, guys :).
