Corey and Melissa

I've known Melissa for most of my life... we went to school together (and I'm talking K-12), we carpooled for a while, our parents even went to high school together. I remember one time when our sports teams were traveling to Minnesota... Melissa's parents came along for the trip and let me hang around with them for a few days at the Mall of America so I didn't have to ride back to KC in that stinky yellow school bus! Melissa is such a great person, from her infectious laugh (that doubles when her twin sister Megan is around;) ) to the way her heart is so full of love... Corey, you sure are a lucky guy!

I had a great time on their engagement shoot, btw. After my busiest week of shooting ever, their laidback engagment shoot was the perfect way to end the weekend. I've shot at this location more times that I can count, and it was really fun discovering new locations with this adventurous couple. Here are some of my favs:

I love this shot! I found out after we had spent some time in this spot that Corey is allergic to all kinds of grass... what a trooper! No worries, though, he was wearing jeans so everything was a-ok.

I love me some sun flares :). Kinda reminds me of that last scene in Pride and Prejudice.

Congrats Corey and Melissa!
God bless you as you become one. I pray that you see Him more clearly because of each other.

St. Louis Trash the Dress!!

So there's this trend in wedding photography where the bride meets with the photographer after the wedding to do a shoot in places that a bride typically wouldn't be, like a city alley or railroad tracks or in a pond (that's right... I said IN a pond). A few of us photographers got together last Friday to shoot a Trash the Dress session with a model... who just happens to be one of my good friends, Carrie. We had an awesome time shooting together and Carrie did a great job! Thanks so much to Michelle for setting up the event!

Michelle measured the water to see just how deep Carrie would have to wade. She was brave ;)

Pat & Jill Hanna

Seriously, shooting weddings has got to be one of the best jobs ever. I had such a fun day with this couple! Jill was so super-organized, giving me a list of each detail of the day. She even included me in some of her pre-planning, which gave us the opportunity to schedule in some extra time to take TONS of really fun pics before the wedding. And how cute are they! I love seeing the groom light up when the bride walks in. And he sure did :). It such a fun day! Here are some of my favorites:

Cool details shot by my awesome assistant ;)

These two were tearing it up on the dance floor. It got a little hot in there;)

Amanda's Bridals

i'm so excited to finally be able to post these! I shot Amanda's bridals a few weeks ago, and I've been dying to post them, but I didn't want to run the risk of having the groom see them before the wedding. Well, they got married yesterday (it was beautiful, btw... I'll be posting some of their pics soon), so here are some of my favorite of Amanda's birdals. It's been so cool to do bridal shots with such cool brides this summer!

Mike and Christie

Just a few pics from Mike a Christie's wedding. The rain kept us inside (seems to be a theme this summer :), but the day was beautiful! Congrats!
