Mary and Neil are so great together! I'm certain that their wedding this spring will be fan-freakin-tastic. I met up with them at Lafayette Square Park for some engagement photos and here are some of my favorites:

Amy and Eric
Ah, what a fun couple Amy and Eric are. I so enjoyed shooting their engagement session, and hanging out with them this fall. They're getting married in just a few months in Florida, and I'm so bummed my schedule didn't allow me to be able to shoot their wedding :(. Amy's family is super-sweet and so much fun, so I know they will have an absolute BLAST at their destination wedding.
here are a few of my favorites from their engagement session. We started off shooting outside the St. Louis Artists' Guild in Clayton:
Very romantic
Yeah, these two are going to have such a great wedding :).
Eric is a fireman and brought along his uniform for a few shots.
Before we finished up their session, we headed over to Wash U for a few shots. One of my favorite places to shoot for sure.
Best of luck to you, Amy and Eric! Enjoy your time in Florida!
Ty and Steph :: My bro-in-law and future sis-in-law
Guess who's getting a new sister?
It's ME!
My brother-in-law Tyler, is getting married to Stephanie this September, and I'm so excited that I get to shoot their wedding! Stephanie's a sweetheart and I think she's going to make a GREAT addition to the family. I shot their engagement session at Forest Park earlier this fall, and I've got to admit, I was SUPER nervous for this shoot! I don't know why, but I always get nervous when I'm shooting photos for family :).
Below are a few of my favorites from their shoot, as well as some fun family facts for your reading pleasure :)
Fun fact #1: My other brother-in-law, Nate, also married a Stephanie. One family; two Stephanie Hessels. What are the odds?
Shooting at sunset creates some really great shadows, especially with the great architectural columns at the Muny. Not a fun fact, but a fact nonetheless.
Fun fact #2: Tyler borrowed the shirt he's wearing from his brother Nate. My Jon has the same shirt.
Fun fact #3: After this shoot, we all met up with the rest of the Hessels at the Boat House in Forest Park to celebrate my birthday. I love me some Boat House pizza.
Fun fact #4: I shot in this same location a few days later. A family of scary spiders apparently moved in there in the meantime. Ew.
Fun fact #5: Jon will be second shooting this wedding with me.. except for the ceremony because he'll be officiating. How cool is it that he gets to preform the ceremony for his brother?!
Fun Fact #6: A few days after this shoot, we all got together again and saw High School Musical 3 in the theater with a crew of tweens. Super fun.

Sarah and Adam :: Married
Sarah and Adam were married on a beautiful day this October. Gosh, I am so behind on blogging....
It's hard work getting into a wedding dress
Beautiful church for a wedding. Jon grabbed this shot during the ceremony.
Sarah and Adam wanted to make a quick stop at the Muny for a few photos and just in the time we were there, we saw SEVEN other wedding parties. But it was totally worth the wait :)
the beautiful bride
the loverly ladies
flare-o-licious
flare-o-rama
and here's some more flare my wonderful assistant Jon shot while we were at Ted Drewes. I know I've mentioned this before, but just in case you forgot, Ted Drewes gives free concretes to wedding parties. did you hear that? FREE
the cake
the smash
Sarah and Adam took dance lessons before the wedding and gave everyone quite a performance.
And then, Sarah had a surprise for Adam. She, along with all her bridesmaids, had a dance choreographed for Adam. Jon grabbed this shot during the show ;)

Tracie and Frankie :: Engaged
Tracie and Frankie are getting married this fall, and I have a feeling that their event is going to be awesome :). I met up with the pair earlier this fall downtown by the graffiti wall and we made our way to the archgrounds and beyond. Here are some of my favorites :).
Gotta get me some flare
I love these stairs that flank the sides of the archgrounds. I do not, however, love how hard it was for me to climb up them at 8 months pregnant :). I had to stop and take a break halfway through and I was pretty out of breath by the time I got to the top. I hope Tracie and Frankie didn't think I was too much of a dork...

class of 2009 :: John
John and I took a trip to downtown Clayton earlier this fall so I could take some photos commemorating his senior year of college. I wish more people would have their photos taken during events like this. I mean, of course taking senior pics when you graduate from high school is important, but graduating from college is just as important, if not more :). It marks the beginning of something very exciting :). Here are a few of my faves...
flare!
everybody was kung fu fighting...
Jon is a barista at a coffee shop, and before we finished the session, he made me a pumpkin spice latte. yum!
