On the way to Matt and Aubrey's downtown Chicago engagement session, Jon and I had a chance to get to know the couple a little better. I, of course, wanted to know how Matt popped the question to Aubrey. The culmination of his story involved M&M's that he had specially made, which all had the message "I Love You" written on them. All of them, except one.
I love, love, love Matt and Aubrey.
Aubrey's 'do. Almost done.
Awesomely practical and amazingly cute shoes. I want some like that... but maybe with a heel, because you know this girl is short ;)
the bling
tiny, cute, but apparently uncomfortable, ring bearer shoes
A handy guide to folding a pocket square
Matt catching a glimpse of his bride for the first time
The chapel at Willow Creek. The church, which hosts more than 22,000 each week, is in high demand for weddings. Matt and Aubrey were one of FIVE weddings that weekend. I think those wedding coordinators must have had a caffeine injection.
This is the point where I just about lost it... part of Aubrey's vows talked about how she waited and prayed for a husband, and Matt was the answer to those prayers. It was obvious that the vows she said weren't just words, but a genuine expression of her love. I wasn't the only one crying.
married!
Probably my favorite group shot ever. I've been wanting to do this shot for such a long time, and the wedding party happily obliged. Although I do think that some of them thought I was crazy when my instructions were "walk quickly towards the middle when I count to three!" This photo is really demonstrative of how Matt and Aubrey handled the day. I never once saw either of them stressed, even though everyone around them was hustling all over the place.
Love this one
For some reason, I just couldn't stop looking at this one.
And I love the classic timeless of this one of Audrey entering the reception hall. I think the motion blur is so indicative of the anticipation the guests inside were feeling before the couple walked through the door.
And, of course, the mutual cake shove
Jon always manages to capture some great emotions during the toasts....
... and totally flattering shots of guests dancing :). You may remember Scott, who's wedding we shot last year.
Scott and Amanda, who referred us to Matt and Aubrey. I just love seeing past brides at weddings!
Matt and Aubrey, it was such an honor to witness your wedding day. God bless both of you abundantly and we'll see you in October!

Looks like a great time Lisa. Good work!
Love the motion blur one with them in the middle. It immediately reminded me of the original purpose of bridesmaids (to thwart off evil doers to harm the bride). I think it was a symbolic measure more than literal, but I love how they seem to be guarding them.
Ok, maybe I'm thinking about this too much. But I still love it.
Great inspiring work as usual. :)
Love your "walk in quickly" picture, but what you were able to catch that impressed me the most is the natural chemistry and love of this couple. Just beautiful. Love the shot of them dancing with hands entwined. Gorgeous.
This might be one of my favorite wedding posting! I just loved each pic more and more. Fabulous as usual!
