We met up with Jackie at Lafeyette Square park the other day for some really fun senior photos. It was really overcast and looked like it might rain, but fortunately, it held off for us :). We spent some time walking around the square and the park. We got some really cool shots because of all the unique locations within walking distance... and well, I guess it helped that I had such a great model! Here are a few of my favs from the shoot:
Headshots are my new favorite thing! I got a new 85mm this summer and I am loving it!
This alley has the best light of almost any place I've shot. It was really cloudy at this point in the shoot, but the alley had some amazing light.
And here's Jackie looking like a supermodel.
Doesn't she have amazing eyes?
Not only is Jackie super sweet, but she also plays the electric guitar. How cool is that?
This was such a great photo shoot! Not only is Jackie totally photogenic and sweet, but her parents are so cool! While we were shooting her photos, they were having dinner and exploring Lafeyette Square. They came across a great little coffee house called Park Avenue Coffee. I had seen it before, but I had no idea that they had opened up a patio in the back. It was so cool because as it started to get darker, this

The Stone Family
We went back to Bee Tree Park a few weeks ago to do some photos with Brian and Erin's family. My husband and I went to college with Brian and Erin, and it was so good to catch up with them! Their children are precious and we really enjoyed our time with them. The light was just amazing that day in the park. Here are a few of my favorites:
Here's Brody with mom. He's so cute!
tag
So there's this thing going around with photographers across the country. One photog will make a blog post revealing 8 interesting facts about himself/herself and then tag other photograhers to do the same. And now it's my turn :). I've been tagged by my new friends Stephanie and Clary. So, here ya go. 8 facts about Lisa :).
1. I live with my husband and 98 other guys and I'm totally cool with that. Ok, so this one probably deserves a little bit of an explanation. My husband is the Resident Director at Missouri Baptist University, so we live in an apartment in the mens dorm. Before you start feeling sorry for me, let me just say, this is really one of the coolest things that has ever happened to us!:). My husband is in seminary and working in the dorms allows his work schedule to be really flexible. AND we get the opportuntiy to live in community with some of the best college students. It's really a blessing. Oh, and we're far enough away from the guys, so we don't even smell them ;).
2. I am the world's worst dancer. It's a shame, really. I went to a private school where dancing wasn't allowed so i never learned, and unfortunately, my God-given rythmn is quite unpleasant. I try. but never in public.
3. I love brushing my teeth, and it's not why you think. I have one of those cool toothbrushes that sings... and it sings the theme song to Hannah Montana. Yeah, that's right. Hannah Montana. You get the best of both worlds...
4. I love Jesus. A lot.
5. I'm a pretty short girl. I do my best to make myself look taller, but yeah, I'm still short. My grandma told me that in Italian, my last name means "little women," so perhaps I was doomed to be short.
6. If I haven't had coffee by 9 am, run. fast. You don't want to mess with this.
7. By all accounts, I love a good sale. I almost never buy anything full price and I'm quite proud of all the money I've saved. BUT I do have one weakness: designer jeans. Ah. Show me a pair of Seven's and all my frugality goes out the window.
8. I am not an emotional person, but I get a little teary during the vows at every wedding that I shoot. It's always touching to hear a couple affirm their love for each other, but when I look around and see my husband shooting photos during the ceremony with me, it's a little astounding. I just wanna squeeze him. We've been married for 3 years, and wow, being married is the best. He comes with me to almost every photoshoot, even though he has about a thousand other things to do. It's like he's affirming our marraige covenant when he freely gives of his time to shoot with me and support my work. I truly don't deserve someone like him.
So there ya have it. Eight facts about me. And now it's my turn to tag another photographer. I nominate my friend Kristen, who is just starting her photography business. We're going to be working on a photo project together in the next month, so keep your eye out for her :).

I have to admit, I'm getting a little behind on my blogging... I've had a TON of awesome photoshoots in the last few weeks AND I got tagged (more on that later), so be prepared for quite a few updates :).
My trusty assistant and I headed out to Bee Tree Park with Kevin and his family for some senior photos. I had never been to Bee Tree, and that place is amazing! I ended up going back there just a few days later for another shoot because I was so impressed with the place. Jon and I had a great time with Kevin and his family. Here are some of my favorites:

Micah and Meg
The day started off pretty cloudy with a little bit of rain. Naturally, I called Meg to see if they wanted to reschedule their engagement session, but Micah had faith it would clear up. And you know what... it did! It wasn't exactly sunny, but it did stop raining for us and I'm so glad we kept our date! My trusty assistant and I had an awesome time with Meg and Micah! They were up for anything and had some really great ideas for their photos. They're getting married at the beginning of October and I cannot wait to shoot their wedding! The ceremony and reception will be done fairly early, so we're going to head dowtown for a fashion photoshoot. They're truly rockstars, so keep watching for their wedding pics!
Here are my favs from the e-session (I usually don't post this many pics, but I couldn't resist!):
Very first photo of the day... yeah, i knew it was going to be a fun shoot :).
My FAVORITE! I love this pic! It's so going on my website!
Aww... he loves her.
Perfect jump on the first try. props to micah :)
This shot was Micah's idea. Love it.
Tower Grove Park is such a great place. After a quick clothes change, we found this really great spot that totally had the fall look going.
Isn't she just so adorable?!? She's going to be such a beautiful bride in just a few days!
I love these next two too! It was so dark and overcast by this point that I was afraid we would have to cut the shoot short, but my trusty assistant was there with the bounce cards to warm up the pic. He's amazing!

Jessica + Brandon= one hot wedding
It was definitely one of the hottest days of the year when Jessica and Brandon tied the knot. And, unfortunately, the air in the church wasn't working. And the air wasn't working in the limo either. And the reception site... yeah, wasn't working there either. But the day was completely amazing! Jessica and Brandon were totally cool with everything and they rolled with the punches all day long! During the portrait shots, my kick-butt assistant Kristen shot this pic that pretty much sums up what we all wished we were doing:
During the course of their engagement, I really feel like I've found friends in Jessica and Brandon. I've had so much fun hanging out with them, and now I'm pumped that Jessica works with me! Thanks so much for sharing your day with me, you two:) There were so many fun shots from the day it was hard for me to choose only a few for the blog. Here are some of my favs from the day:
Getting ready shot by my afore-mentioned kick-butt assistant Kristen (gosh the DOF on that shot is yummy!):
Some fun details:
This is hot. And look at how awesome Jessica's make up looks after about 2 hours of shooting. She wore Bare Minerals. Future brides, take note... this stuff rocks!
Details at the reception:
Some more shots from my assistant. Kristen is such a natural at capturing the emotion of the day through photography :)
