Choosing a location for engagement photos is a difficult task, especially in St. Louis because so there are so many wonderful spots to choose from. Lindsay and Patrick, however, knew right away that they wanted to shoot in the central west end. When Patrick first moved to St. Louis, he lived in an apartment right down the street from the restaurants and unique shops that make the cwe such an attractive place to live. As we strolled through the streets with Patrick and Lindsay, they recalled all the different restaurants they frequented, and we could easily tell that this place had special meaning for the couple. I just love it when I get to pair a place with sentimental value with a couple who is truly in love.
Lindsay and Patrick are having a swanky black and white wedding next summer, and their engagement photos set the tone for their big event, which, I must mention, is pretty much completely planned. Props to Lindsay!
Classy. One of my new favorites.
how gorgeous is Lindsay?
What a great couple! I can't wait for thier wedding :)
Thanks for meandering through the streets of the cwe with us! We're already excited about your wedding!

Patrick and Lindsay :: engaged
Marvelous Monday #20 :: I love my job
If you know me or have followed my blog for a while, you know I live in a boys dorm with my husband, dog, and 100 college boys (if that's a total shock to you, I promise, it's not nearly as bad as it sounds... read here for more :) ) .
One of the cool things we get to do as part of a college campus is chaperone student events, and this week, we got to go Chicago with a group of students, and did we ever have a blast! It was a great trip... except for that one restaurant that we stumbled upon that housed their kitchen in a trailer, had port-a-potties hidden behind lattice for restrooms, and a huge rat that bid us farewell...
I do a little freelance work for the university and while we were there, I took some pics of a few of the students at Millennium Park. I have the best job ever :).

As Is
I love me some prego pants. Expandable waste-bands are just a little piece of heaven that no one should have to miss. They are quite expensive, though, so I find a sale, I'm all over it.
Like white on rice.
At a recent sale, I noticed a nice pair of maternity pants that I couldn't wait to wear at a wedding. There was a tag noting that they were "as is," but there didn't appear to be any problem with them, so I added them to my stash.
Then, when I wore them for the first time to a wedding, I found out why they were marked "as is"
One leg was petite, the other... not so much.
awesome.

Kaci and Joel
I was so excited to photograph Kaci and Joel's wedding! I've known Kaci for quite some time, and right upon meeting Joel, it was so obvious that he was the one for her. When I was driving home after having coffee with them earlier this year, I immediately called my husband and said, "Kaci found a winner!"
All the girls had their hair done at the Sizzor Shak Salon in Collinsville, which I HIGHLY recommend. As you can see, all the girls look absolutely fabulous.
A tender moment before the ceremony with Kaci and her college roomie Bri.
Even though Joel says he's not a crier, I knew he'd probably get a little emotional when he saw Kaci walk through those doors. Even I was tearing up.
married
After the ceremony, we got on a party bus and headed across the river back to MO for some fun wedding party shots
The lovely ladies. See, every single one of them has fabulous hair! If you haven't made your appointment yet at the Sizzor Shak, go now!
While I was taking photos of the girls, Carrie grabbed this shot of the guys. I love it!
Isn't Kaci gorgeous?
a little reception details
Kaci and Joel had Cosmo T's DJ the wedding, and he brought a FANTASTIC lighting set up, which was huge bonus for me!
