Megan and Steve have been together since high school, but when those two locked eyes on their wedding day, I could have sworn they were seeing each other for the first time. It was such an honor to photograph that moment. I was eight months pregnant when I shot this wedding last November, and one of my assistants was five months pregnant at the time as well... needless to say, there were tears all around.
The day started off at Magnolia's Salon for hair and make up

Sarah, who came along with us to shot this wedding, grabbed this shot of that first meeting.
And then it was off to the graffiti wall downtown. Megan suggested this location and I'm so glad she did!
It was pretty cold that day - so cold I could barely move my frozen fingers - but Megan and Steven worked it out

yep, she was a beautiful bride
You know, pretty much everyone is happy on their wedding day. I mean, who wouldn't be.... it's a day to be together with your closest family and friends as you pledge your devotion to one person forever (while you wear the best clothes ever and finally have an excuse to splurge on a dynamite pair of shoes you'll only wear once). After shooting so many weddings, I often wonder if that joy lasts. You know, after the dinner is done, the honeymoon is over, the last gift has been put away, and the marriage begins.... well, I ran into Megan the other day and when I asked her how married life was treating her, I saw this same excited smile that she just couldn't contain.

Megan and Steven ::
Marvelous Mustache March Monday :: Who do you think he looks like?
So who do you think our baby Kaden looks like? I thought he looked more like me at first, but he's looking a bit more like Jon everyday, wouldn't you say?

Marvelous Monday :: Meet Ruby Lynn (aka, my future daughter-in-law)
This is truly marvelous. Bryce and Carrie, who are some of our best friends in the whole world, had a baby girl this weekend! We've been anticipating her arrival for so so long, especially because we've decided that she will be Kaden's bride one day. It will be lovely indeed.
All during the wedding we shot on Friday, we got text updates of Carrie's progress and our anticipation was growing by the minute! And finally, at around 4:15pm, Ruby made her entrance. We stopped by the hospital the next day to introduce Kaden to his future wife.
She's a beauty
Kaden wore his "I Love Ruby" shirt to celebrate. He got a little fussy, but I think he just wanted to sit closer to Ruby ;) And check out Carrie! Doesn't she look fab... especially just after having a baby.

Brooke and Josh
I know, I know... I'm a bad blogger. While I've been toiling away exploring my new equipment and refining my craft, I've left my blog empty for far too long. After several emails, inquiries ( I can't tell you how many times my husband has come home and said "So and so is wondering why you haven't blogged lately"), and even a late night text message as to why my blog has been so bare, I guess it's time I got back into the swing of blogging. I still have a few sessions left from 2008 to blog, and this week I shoot my first 2009 wedding, so expect to see a lot more bloggity-blog-blogging from me.
I shot this session for Brooke and Josh early fall of last year at Forest Park. Not only did we have the perfect conditions for shooting photos (check out that golden loveliness at sunset), but Brooke and Josh were all smiles the whole time. I love it when my couples can't hold back their laughter :). Enjoy.
We started off at the Muny. The grand entranceway exudes classic beauty. love that location.
